Core Problem
Fynix was initially available only as a VS Code plugin, making it accessible primarily to developers already familiar with coding tools. This limitation prevented the product from reaching its full potential and delivering value to a wider range of users.

Understanding Fynix
Fynix offers AI native products designed to make software development more efficient and enjoyable. Fynix Copilot offers real-time coding assistance directly in your IDE, while the Code Quality Agent automates pull request reviews for faster, cleaner code integration.

Understanding Current Space
As AI tools evolve, we’ve been tracking emerging patterns to keep Fynix ahead of the curve. After discussions with product and engineering teams, we decided to reposition Fynix as an engineering-focused platform, a place where both new and experienced developers can ideate and build.
Instead of limiting Fynix to a VS Code plugin, we’re launching it as a standalone chat interface with an optional VS Code extension. This shift makes Fynix more accessible, relevant, and useful for a broader audience.

Listening to the user
Through three rounds of surveys, we set out to understand which tools users rely on apart from Fynix, their experiences and challenges when using the product, what they value in competing solutions, and the details of their everyday workflows.

We need docstring functionality in the UI, it often takes too long to understand what the code is doing.

Proposed Improvements
After user interviews and stakeholder workshops, we created journeys in which Fynix becomes a chat-based assistant powered by 5+ language models. It automatically recommends the best model for beginners, lets developers get new prompts through a built-in library, and serves as a private coding partner.
Each journey ends with a one-click export to VS Code, so teams can move from idea to runnable code without friction bringing AI into their everyday workflow.
